The Wound Nurse Representative will assist in evaluating the needs of the facility, in coordination with the Director of Nursing and Administrator.

We deliver a complete range of support surfaces:

  • Low air loss
  • Alternating pressure relief
  • Self adjusting pressure relief

Our products are water resistant and have vapor permeable covers with two stretch fabrics. This prevents friction and sheer.

3. Wound care in-services and education will be provided to nursing staff based on specific needs of facility. In-services include, but not limited to:

  • Proper wound assessment and stage of pressure ulcers
  • Proper assessment of venous stasis wounds with use of appropriate compression therapies
  • Proper assessment of arterial wounds with etiology
  • Proper measuring techniques of wounds
  • Rounds with facility designee upon request
  • 1:1 contact and wound instruction with nursing staff when necessary
  • Cutting edge education in use of hyperbaric oxygen chambers for extremity wounds and trunk wounds
  • Proper instruction with use of offered support surfaces

4. Biomed service includes technicians inspecting and testing each item prior to delivery to ensure patient safety.

5. NYHHC can assist the facility in developing wound protocols to meet the needs of the facility.

6. NYHHC can receive telephone, fax, and email orders.

7. We provide clinical support and evaluation for the appropriate support surface.

8. NYHHC will provide a clinical evaluation with picture documentation for support surfaces.

Specialty Support Surfaces

The REM-AIR [ Mellen Air Manufacturing, Inc. ]

REM-AIR A true low air loss replacement mattress with a blower system built into the mattress. It is appropriate for multiple stage II, stage III, and stage IV pressure ulcers, plus post-up ulcer flap and graft procedures.

The TURN Q-PLUS [ Invacare ]

This mattress automatically turns patients from side to side for pressure ulcer relief. It is also a true low air loss system, which regulates heat and moisture, while reducing pressure and shear. It is portable and with user-friendly controls.

The 3500 S [ Invacare ]

A low air loss mattress replacement system that provides the therapeutic benefit of pressure relief and skin moisture management in 3 zones.
